Note 1: This is a children's racing helmet. We generally recommend it for racers 12 years and younger. It will not fit adult heads properly even if the measurement is the same!
Note 2: The pre-installed clear shield on this helmet does not have tearoff posts, however, all additional extra shields do have tearoff posts. Please select an extra shield if you need tearoff posts. - Sizing Chart Proper helmet fit is vital to the performance of a helmet during an impact. For the helmet to perform properly during an impact, it must stay securely on the head.
A small metal tape measure or a cloth tape may be utilized to make your initial measurement. You can also use a string, which can then be laid against a measuring tape.
Measuring the head is only a starting point for the entire sizing procedure. Due to varying shapes, heads that are apparently the same size when measured may not necessarily fit the same size helmet.
Measure the head from a point half an inch above the eyebrows and around the back of the head that results in the largest possible measurement.
